The Roosters trained well at Kootingal Oval on Thursday night, with a number of players proving their fitness for the knockout match.
Last season Gunnedah knocked Kootingal-Moonbi out of the premiership race in the preliminary final at the same ground.
"We're in a much better position than we were last year," Roosters coach Geoff Sharpe said.
"They trained pretty well last night [Thursday]. It's looking a lot better than it was on Tuesday night."
Sharpe said he has two or three injury concerns but "they'll get on the paddock", "with some sticky tape and wrapping".

"Most sides would be in the same boat at this stage of the season," he added.
Last year the Roosters were hammered by injuries late in the season. Better fitness and having a second-grade side this year are big factors in their current good state.
"The majority of the boys could play 80 minutes if needed," Sharpe said. "Vids (Chris Vidler) and Cameron (McDonald) could play 80 minutes if I asked them but we will have two fresh reserves as well."
He has named Nicholas Pascoe and Anthony Smith as those fresh reserves, with Smith returning from an eye injury. He's played everywhere from fullback to prop this season.
