That they were able to salvage a point from their clash with South Armidale at Johnson Street on Saturday was some consolation for Tamworth FC coach Greg Bartlett after another performance littered with missed opportunities.

Bartlett's frustration was obvious as he reflected on their 1-all draw.
They were chasing the game from early on with South Armidale scoring inside the first five minutes and carrying that through to half-time. Troy Hearfield got the competition leaders on level terms not long into the second half when he "absolutely hammered" a free kick from about 35m out.
"Then we missed a penalty and probably missed another 30 (shots)," Bartlett said.
"I don't know what we do."
"At the moment it's just not happening."

Bartlett said it was generally a shamozzle in the attack end with players getting in each others way on top of the miss-firing.
"The pleasing part is our defence," he said.
"They (South Armidale) didn't have many opportunities, they've got a few players high up in the goalscoring list."
Reminiscent of their 1-all draw with North Companions two rounds ago, Bartlett said the Scorpions were "good in patches" but felt FC dominated the game. But they were unable to convert that into goals.
While not what they were after, the point from the draw does keep them two wins clear of North Armidale at the top of the table with two rounds remaining.
FC do though have a game less to play and a worse goal difference.
