Local homeless people will be the beneficiaries of the second successful Sip, Shop, Support event, after $2310 was raised to buy swags.

The event was held on Friday evening at the jockey club, and saw 655 items of donated clothing sold for just $2 each, while over a hundred locals enjoyed a top night out together "while making a difference."
Local solicitor Anneka Frayne is one of the founders of the event, which also saw the UNE Meat Science Department donate $1000 in return for 60 attendees to try, and judge some cuts of lamb.

"It went really well - it was excellent to see so much enthusiasm," she said.
"We had a lot of beautiful items of clothes donated, and while we didn't count the people coming in the door it was really well attended - we had to tell some people they couldn't be involved in the lamb tasting because there was too much interest."
The Imperial Brewhouse added to the night with the donation of eight tubs of gelato combining perfectly with the lamb, wine, champagne and high spirits.
"We are looking at holding another event early next year for International Women's Day, so will be asking for more donated clothing later in the year," Ms Frayne said.
Ms Frayne, together with co-founders Joanna Birtles and Penny Westman have requested to have the Family Exchange and Support Network registered as an official charity for further events, so "watch this space."
