Three Armidale riders and a Tamworth rider will jet to Canada at the end of the month to take on the Mountain Bike World Championships.

Emily Wooster, Holly Harris and Katherine Hosking, along with Tamworth's Nick Chisholm, were named when the 43-strong Australian Mountain Bike team was announced on Tuesday.
Around 700 riders from around the globe are expected to converge at Monte Saint Anne for the cross country and downhill championships from September 28 to October 1.
Of the local New England contingent, Harris, who will race in the elite women's cross country, has competed at multiple World Championships before while Hosking, set for the under-23 division, will line up for the second time.

The two junior riders, Wooster and Chisholm, will both be competing at a world championships level for the first time.
Wooster was elated to hear of her selection and can't wait to hit the track.
"Competing at world champs is an invaluable opportunity to compete against the worlds best," she said.
Not many people in can say they are going to compete at a world championship and it is an absolute privilege to have this chance.

Hosking echoed Wooster's comments and is rapt to be part of the team.

"I am humbled and excited to have been selected on the Australian mountain bike team to race at the world championships," she said.
"For me, when I stop to think about what it actually means, to represent Australian and race against the fastest girls in the world, it is incredible.
"There are very few people that get an opportunity like this.
"I've already learnt a great deal in the lead up and preparation for this event and I hope to gain more knowledge and experience in Mont Sainte Anne."
