The 35th annual Variety B to B Bash hit the region on day two of the 4,355 km, 10 day, journey from Bondi to Batt Reef in Queensland.
While the final count is yet to be taken, every year the bash raises in excess of $2 million for children "facing barriers such as isolation, financial hardship, disability and sickness."

On Monday Nemingha Public took receipt of $7000 worth of musical instruments and a giant Earth Ball, as one of 12 schools being visited along the way.
Chair of the Variety board, and participant, John Dennis said the B to B has been running for 35 years, and in that time the four annual motoring events have raised over $230 million.
The bashers enjoyed a bbq lunch with the students, before heading to Inverell for the night on their way to Port Douglas via Miles, Emerald, Hughenden, Georgetown, Karumba and Chillagoe.
The B to B Bash always starts and finishes at suburbs and towns starting with B, and always take back roads and scenic drives wherever possible.
Each entrant has to raise at least $8500, although many raise over $100,000 each annually, and also have to have a compliant car that is over 30 years old.
The Variety Bash was started in 1985 when Dick Smith gathered some mates to drive through the outback to raise $250,000 and has gone from strength to strength ever since.
Later this year the Variety Postie Dash will start and finish in Tamworth for the second year straight.
