The traffic lights at the intersection of Peel and Jewry streets were up and running this week after months of work.
A makeshift roundabout had been in place at the intersection - which had caused confusion to some motorists - as construction on the Jewry Street bridge upgrade happened.
Work on the bridge duplication project started at the back end of 2018.
At the time of work on the project starting, Tamworth mayor Col Murray said the the intersection was "one of the most important traffic obstacles we have in the city, and has been for a number of years".
