DARTS players from around the region and beyond have flocked to Gunnedah for the second annual Gunnedah darts open event.

Hosted by the Gunnedah Men's Dart League, the second-ever event, played at the Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club, saw an a spike of entries from last year's event.
Players from as far away as Armidale, Moree and Newcastle made the journey to Gunnedah to battle it out in the men's and women's singles, as well as the men's, women's and mixed doubles events.
Competitors were all vying out for their share of $5000 in prize money, with the winner of each event pocketing $500, the runner up $300 and the semi-finalists $100 each.

The two-day long competition saw plenty of exciting darts action with Mitchell "Moosta" Clegg proving to be a cut above the rest, taking out the men's singles competition, closely followed by Garry O'Brien in second place.
Meanwhile, Emily Austin took out the women's singles competition with Tracey Towns putting in a great effort to finish second.
The competition continued on Sunday with the doubles events.
Clegg continued his good form, teaming up with Darren Oliver to finish second in the men's doubles competition, behind the team of Rodney Blair and Larry Frapple.
In the mixed doubles, Beau McKenzie and Kylie Green reigned supreme finishing in front of the duo of Vicki Hayes and Anthony Mabbott.
Leonie Coleman and Julie Sheahan rounded out the second day of the competition by taking out the women's doubles event.
