Gunnedah High School's coach Sam Proudfoot said his side was eager to seek redemption for last season's loss.
"I think everyone from both sides is pretty excited for this year's game," Proudfoot told the Namoi Valley Independent.
"This year, we have had a couple of our guys in Ash White and Zak Turnbull play with the Gunnedah Bulldogs on the weekends, which should hold them both in good stead."
St Mary's will not be without experienced players on their side, with Hayden Baker, Jasper Thomas and Tom Maher all regularly starring for the Bulldogs this season.
Proudfoot said this year's game, like those in past, will be part of both schools NAIDOC Week commemorations.
"It's going to be a fantastic day for both schools," he said.
"For us it will be a very special game as our jerseys have been designed by Ash White.
"They will feature a Goanna totem and really do look fantastic.
"We will be having a welcome to country and cultural acknowledgement ceremony before the game at 1.30pm, so it should be a great day."
