A MOTORBIKE rider who collided with a ute has been airlifted to Newcastle in a serious condition.

The 31-year-old man was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the footpath in the accident at the intersection of Glen Innes Road and Greaves Street at Inverell.
He suffered multiple injuries in the incident, including a broken leg, arm and wrist.
NSW Ambulance crews treated the man on scene before he was taken to Inverell Airport for immediate transfer at about 6:00pm on Thursday.
Paramedics worked with Westpac Rescue Helicopter crews to stabilise the man for the flight to John Hunter Hospital.
The patient was in a serious but stable condition and the occupants of the ute were not injured in the crash.
Inverell police are investigating the circumstances around the collision and anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to come forward.
It's one of a spate of missions in the past 24 hours the Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been tasked to in Northern NSW.
