With only one victory against the Narrabri Eagles earlier this season, the Roos will be looking for their second win of the season against the ladder-leading Bulldogs.
Roos coach Tony Bishop said "a strong midfield formula" would be crucial to his side's chances of winning.
"Aside from the Narrabri and Inverell games, we have been in the contest for most of our other games," Bishop told the Leader.
"It's fair to say we have lacked a little bit of depth in the midfield this season, but if we can work hard and give our forwards good supply we should be competitive."

The Roos will enter Saturday's clash fresh off the back of a 48-point loss to crosstown rivals the Tamworth Swans.
Elliot Bowen was a shining light in the loss, booting seven goals for the game.
"Elliot has been a fantastic pick up for us this season," Bishop said.
"He is certainly one of the best players to have ever played at our club and I think one of the best to have ever played in our league.
"His performance shows that when we do get the ball in our forward line we convert. Our focus now will be about giving our forwards more opportunities."
As well as a second win of the season, the Roos will have further incentive to win Saturday's game, as the club will be hosting its annual ladies day function.
"We are expecting a big crowd of ladies and sponsors, so it would be great to put on a strong performance for our ladies day," Bishop said.
"I'm still not too sure what our team will look like for the game, but hopefully we can be pretty competitive."
Bishop said he expected a tough challenge from the undefeated Bulldogs.
"They have got some really talented players such as Jacob Spackman and Andrew George, who are hard to stop," he said.
"We were right in the game last time we played them and we will need to focus on what we did right that day.
"If we can do that and rectify the few things we didn't do so well we should be pretty competitive."
In the round's other action, the Moree Suns will play host to the New England Nomads at the Moree Showgrounds, while the Inverell Saints and Tamworth Swans have byes.
Saturday's action at Tamworth No.1 Oval will begin with the unveiling of the Gerry Griffiths end at 9.45 am, followed by the Tamworth Roosters v New England Nomads under-17 clash at 10am.
After the juniors will be the women's clash between the Swans and Nomads from 12pm.
The men's clash will round out the day at 2pm.
