The women edged out Dubbo Rams 72-67 before the men thumped the Central Coast Waves 104-49.
Men's coach John Ireland said the veracity of the win probably wasn't that unexpected with the Waves languishing at the bottom of the table with only the one win.
They though "came out and competed early" sticking to within five points of the Thunderbolts at the first break.
After making a few adjustments defensively, the lead ballooned out to 28-points at half-time and the Thunderbolts were never really challenged from there.
"That set the tone after a slow start from us," Ireland said, adding that in the second and fourth quarters he thought defensively, and with their rebounding, they did a really good job.
Quayshun Hawkins was "solid again" top-scoring with 30 points.
It was though some of the other contributions that were the important thing for Ireland, preparing for when they come up against the better sides that are able to mark Hawkins' out, or at least limit his impact.
