Inverell Saints' Lachie Martin was confident with his performance while playing for the Sydney Swans Academy.

The local talent was chosen to trial with the under-17 Swans Academy team in a clash against Greater Western Sydney Giants Academy.
Although beaten 12.7-79 to 6.4-40 but Martin relished in playing alongside the sport's rising stars.
"I played half-forward. The team got beat but I played well. You learn a lot from the level of coaching up there."
Martin and New England Nomads junior Morgan Dunn were invited to trial with the side after impressing Swans selectors at four academy training runs last year.

"They liked how we trained and we got invited to play a game. We're hoping to hear from them in the coming week, after reflecting on our performances, whether they'd like us to come back or not," he said.
Playing for the Inverell Saints', Martin said club training has kept him fit and eager.
The 17-year-old has been playing with the Saints for more than four years.
"We're going well this season, we've only been beaten once."
Martin said the physical nature and level of competitiveness kept him interested in the sport.
