The Regional Roadshow is an initiative of a partnership between the NSWRL and Transport for NSW to create awareness of the 2019 Knock-On Effect campaign, which was launched by the NSW Blues in the lead-up to the opening game of the State of Origin series.
The campaign is spearheaded by NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler and advisor Greg Alexander, who were both personally affected by a road death tragedy after Greg's brother Ben Alexander was killed in a car accident in 1992.
Speaking in a moving three-minute film as part of the campaign, Alexander said there is not a day that goes by that he doesn't think about Ben.
"He was far from the reckless type but he made one reckless decision that cost him his life. It had a devastating effect on me, my family, Ben's friends and the community," he said.
The first stage of the roadshow will see Elias and O'Meley conducting a coaching clinic and road safety talk at Tamworth's Jack Woolaston Oval from 6-7.30pm.
