TWO men have been denied bail accused of possessing an imitation pistol and leading police on a chase after they were captured in a huge show of force in Tamworth.

Tyrone Langman and Sam Attwell were captured by Operation Rapidus - a proactive police bltz - that saw dozens of police swarm Tamworth streets.
Attwell is facing six charges including possessing ammunition, an unauthorised pistol and trespassing while Langman has pleaded not guilty to five charges of police pursuit, driving while never being licensed, possessing ammunition and the same pistol.
The pair were both denied bail by magistrate Julie Soars in Tamworth Local Court until mid-July.
The pair are accused of taking off from police near Petra Avenue on Wednesday.

They allegedly led police on a chase through several streets before abandoning the car near the Tamworth Golf Club.
Golfers pointed officers in the direction of the car before the two men allegedly evaded officers, taking off on foot down Parry Street.
Attwell, 20, was captured hiding in a backyard, after allegedly jumping several fences, while Langman, 21, was arrested hiding in a bathroom.
Police claim they seized the imitation pistol, firearm parts, ammunition as well as gloves and face coverings from the car.

"Operation Rapidus is an enforcement across the police district at anytime of the day or night, the entire command will saturate an area with officers from all policing sections including Target Action Group, criminal investigation, intelligence, licensing, general duties and highway patrol," Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy said.
"On Wednesday, a number of juveniles were discovered together and truanting and were sent back to school.
"This operation targets anti-social behaviour and any offences, everything from truanting to the possession of firearms like this."
Detective Darcy said the show of force would roll out across the district to Narrabri, Manilla, Gunnedah, Wee Waa, Quirindi and Walcha, and everywhere in between.
"We won't broadcast a time or day, but the community will notice the large police presence," he said.
"Those who are up to no good and not obeying the law can expect to encounter our police."
