A MAN accused of firing shots into the air after allegedly threatening a couple with a gun has been refused bail.

The 31-year-old from Warialda is facing a raft of charges after the alleged confrontation that was sparked at a Derra Street, Gravesend, home about 9.30am on Sunday.
Police allege he threatened a 40-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman with a firearm, and then fled in a Toyota Hilux. The older man then chased the accused in a car, and rammed the Hilux.
Police allege the 31-year-old again took off, and fired a number of shots.

Shortly after, police stopped the Toyota at Warialda and arrested the 31-year-old.
As part of their investigations, officers then went to a Warialda home and searched a car, where they seized two rifles, which they claim are stolen.
The guns were seized and the 31-year-old is facing charges of firing a gun in a public place, possessing an unregistered gun in public, being armed with intent, not keeping a firearm safely, using an unauthorised gun and disqualified driving.
He was refused bail by police. He was still in police custody late on Monday.
