The Serendipity committee volunteers and their Red Bucket Brigade will be out and about collecting donations; money that will go towards supporting locals through their cancer journey. Despite the ongoing drought organisers hope locals will dig deep.
"The Serendipity Committee has been supporting locals for the past 25 years and have donated in excess of $300,000 to the local community, but we need your help to continue to provide the products and services to improve the comfort for locals living with and being treated for cancer," Serendipity's Brenda Smith said.
"In 2019 we have continued to provide patient gowns for BreastScreen NSW (Tamworth) and the North West Cancer Centre (NWCC) Radiation Therapy department, 'Moogoo' for Breast Cancer patients, and our new hot pink 'Serendipity bags' for patients to use during their treatment and take home to reuse for shopping.
"We continue to support patients staying at Inala House and those who need additional specialist oncology massage and lymphedema massage through sponsoring local massage therapists in this specialist field. This ensures this service can be provided locally for those in need.

"We also provide magazines to the patients of the NWCC Oncology department and financially assist cancer patients most in need via our 'Can Do' program. We recently donated our Serendipity branded water bottles to the items we provide to patients at the NWCC, for those who need abdominal scans/treatment."
100 per cent of funds raised locally are spent locally.
