A Meet the Candidates forum in Gunnedah has been cancelled because of a lack of attendees.

Only incumbent member for Parkes Mark Coulton was able to attend tonight's forum because of timetable clashes, but he did not want to have "a one-man show".
Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce's Stacey Cooke said this was disappointing for the chamber and the community.

"We had such success with the state Meet the Candidates [event] so we were hoping we'd get that similar opportunity for our shire and district to be able to ask the questions they wanted," Ms Cooke said.
Ms Cooke said there would not be another forum planned for this year.
This year's federal election candidates include Mr Coulton, Labor's Jack Ayoub, United Australia's Petrus Van Der Steen, Greens' David Paull, Liberal Democrats' Daniel Jones and Independent William Landers.
