WAKING up early on a Sunday morning and running 45km up a hill isn't everyone's cup of tea, but about 80 brave souls took on the Tamworth Trail Blazer run up Flagstaff Mountain.

Billed as run "where fun goes to die", folks took on a range of events on Flagstaff Mountain and the surrounding Wentworth Mounds over three distances - 15km, 30km and 45km with the latter distance setting themselves up for 2700m of climbs.

Luckily for the runners it was a brisk start to Sunday morning with temperatures dipping to 13 degrees before rising up to 30 later in the afternoon.
