TAMWORTH'S youth council are calling for kids to drop in a sick design online as it launches a new competition ahead of the highly anticipated opening of the Peel Street skate park.

People will be able to kick it on the new rink from May 26 with grand plans in place for the official opening.
Youth councillor Oli Keft-Gill said youngsters will have a chance to win a custom skateboard on the day.

Using a template on the council website, people will be able to submit a deck design.
"We want youth to come up to come up with awesome fun ideas on skateboards," he said.
"First place will get their own skateboard printed with their design on it, and we'll announce it on the day the skate-park opens, and we will have two runners-up who will get their designs on hoodies."
The youth council is also working away on some big plans for NSW Youth Week.
Kicking off on April 10, local events will include a photography competition and "silent disco".
