The clash between Old Boys and West Tamworth was scheduled to begin at 1pm on Saturday.
However, the Tamworth District Cricket Association (TDCA) along with Tamworth Regional Council, opted to abandon the day's play after the region received more than 40mm of welcome rain.

TDCA president Ben Middlebrook said there was hope play would get under way on Sunday.
"At this stage, the council will inspect the grounds at 8.30am on Sunday morning," Middlebrook told the Leader.
"They will then make a decision about what grounds are suitable for play on Sunday.
"If they do deem the grounds to be alright to play on then it will then be put in the hands of the umpires."
If the council does not deem the grounds safe for play on Sunday, Old Boys will claim this season's two-day premiership due to finishing higher on the ladder than Wests.
"I think whether we play tomorrow will depend on what the weather is like this afternoon," Middlebrook said.
"If we get a bit on sunshine and wind then we might be a chance to get on tomorrow.
"I guess we will just have to wait and see."
The welcome rain has had little impact on some of the region's other sporting action, with the Tamworth water polo grand finals still going ahead and the Tamworth Magpies set to begin their season at home against Barbarians.
Meanwhile, the Tamworth Kangaroos will look to gear up for the AFL North West season when they host a trial match against the Muswellbrook Cats at Riverside.
While Werris Creek and North Tamworth's reserve-grade sides will clash in a trial match at Werris Creek from 4pm.
