The Tamworth City BMX Club rider had one of his best weekends on the bike, winning both the men's 17-24 cruiser and 20-inch divisions.
"It's the first time I've won the 20-inch and cruiser at the one titles," he said.
He said he probably didn't expect as much out of the weekend as he got and credited being able to spend a bit more time on the bike as one of the reasons for his good form.
"The last couple of years I've been busy with work. This year I've been able to find a bit more time for training," he said.
Not that that has been easy. Studying human sciences part time at university, he juggles his time between Sydney and Tamworth but usually tries to get to a track at least a couple of times a week.
The cruiser classes were held on Saturday and the 20-inch on Sunday.
Morris said he felt quite confident going into both finals. He'd won all bar one of his races and even then he finished second, and his lap times were getting progressively quicker.

It was just a matter of doing what he had done through the motos.
The championships were a valuable hit-out for the National Championships to be held in Shepparton in May are coming along.

The competition is always pretty strong too. The weekend was no exception.

"There were a few guys that have been doing quite well on the national circuit so it was good to gauge against them," he said.
The next national round will be held in Ipswich on April 13-14. Morris will go into that leading the cruiser division.
He is also planning to compete in the state series rounds at Hawkesbury, Bathurst and San Remo before the nationals.
Fellow Titan Ashley Teakle also performed well on the weekend.
Stepping up to the 17-24 division, and racing her cruiser for only the second time this year she finished fourth. She then raced hard all day on Sunday to win the No.3 plate in the 17-24 women's 20-inch.
