Tamworth good deeds: Aaron Hemmings donates barbecue to Westpac Rescue Helicopter service Tamworth

The 25-year-old and his two carers Joe Dabron and Pat Burrows have decided to do one good deed a week.

On Tuesday, Tamworth's Westpac Rescue Helicopter was the recipient of a brand-spanking new barbecue to auction at its charity golf day.

"We're doing good deeds for the community and this is one of them so we're really thankful to Barbecues Galore," Mr Burrows said.

And, it's perfect timing as the Tamworth service takes the lead as the busiest in the fleet between Lismore and Newcastle.

The money raised from the auction will help continue the life-saving service, Mr Jones said.

"It's remarkable, it's a testament to our communities that they want to support this service - it's a really, really nice gesture.

"I imagine it will be highly sought after and I might even have a crack at it myself."

As for Aaron, he plans to keep up the good deeds well into the future.

"A lot of people have been messaging us and giving us ideas for good deeds, our next is to give ten swags to the homeless," Mr Burrows said.
