The main pavilion showcased the best produce and handicraft the shire has to offer. Junior cattle and sheep shows were well attended. The horticulture pavilion was ablaze with colour, and the main ring was alive was equestrian events.
The photography section of the main pavilion reported record entries this year - more than 650 photographs were received, and nearly 100 of them were in the junior category.
The inaugural 'Saw Off' competition in front of the bar proved very popular with the crowd, and the fireworks were lit bang on 8 pm to finish off the day while a storm rolled in to dampen to down the dust.
Tomorrow will be the biggest day for the annual event with the return of the woodchop after a decades absence, the demolition derby, cattle show, Walcha Showgirl winner announcement and the grand parade.
