Background and experience in politics: I am a Gilgandra local, 45 years of age. I have worked at the executive level for many years, running multi-million-dollar organisations, am a Principal Research Fellow, appointed to many Government panels, hold a Masters (Business Administration), JP, former Queensland Police officer, panel beater, avid sports fan and family man. I worked in the shearing sheds with my old man. I was working at Nyngan during the '91 flood. I remember the helicopter in the main street dropping rations to us on the property because we had to get the sheep shorn before all the water took over, which did.

Profession outside of politics: I have held many professions, but I am a CEO with a Regional Health Consortia in Dubbo, working within Aboriginal Health across the Barwon Electorate.
Why are you running for the seat of Barwon? Our electorate deserves better representation for our communities and I have a personal obligation to the electorate as a Gilgandra local, to achieve better outcomes for the seat of Barwon and I am optimistic that I can achieve this result. Furthermore my decision to stand as an independent for Barwon has been driven by the need to give the current electorate an alternative choice outside of the major parties.
Why should people vote for the party you stand for? A vote for me is a vote for Independence. I don't have to toe the Party line, I am answerable directly to the voters, I am a local, well qualified and grounded.
What are the top three issues in the electorate? To have a new Independent Member with my expertise, voters can be confident that I will do things better and have more of an indept discussion in relation to all issues. 'Every issue is a Political Issue' My top three priorities are, Water, Water is life, CSG, Stop the current licences of exploration and stop the CSG project in Narrabri and beyond and helping farmers, family and business in time of drought. The drought doesn't stop so Government should stop on giving up on our farmers.
Why should people vote for you? I'm here for the People within our electorate and not for the Party. Its simple, lets get rid of the Major Parties and get an Independent to hold them all to account.
How do you propose to bring more jobs to the electorate? NSW needs to invest into TAFES to upskill those that attend TAFE and we need to invest into infrastructure so we can employ local people. I come from a trade background and without TAFE, I wouldn't be were I am at today. I would like to see Government invest into those that require jobs to subsidies some training and career opportunities so people can stay in community and get full time employment.
What do you feel is the biggest issue affecting people in Nyngan? Drought has impacted all of our small towns and Nyngan is one of these towns. If elected, I would ensure that the life of the drought for our farmers is supported through an heavy investment from the NSW Government. I would also like to see small business supported because everyone is affected by the drought.
How do you propose to help with this should you be elected? As an Independent, I would work with all sides of Government to ensure that each of our smaller communities are invested in.
What is your favourite book/hobby/activity? Outside my daily work, I am employed as a Principal Research Fellow with a major university, so I like to read. I don't have a favourite book, but I do like all things legal. My favourite hobby is to make sure my family are well cared for at all times. My favourite activity is being in the garden, it clears my head and I find some serenity being outside.
