SEVERAL of the Gunnedah Red Devils' most promising junior players have been selected to represent Central North at the NSW Country Championships in May.

Mirian Hetherington, Chennelle Winsor, Courtney Whitton and Elsie Hunt will play alongside each other in the women's under-17 side, while Lachie Adamson and Ethan Kelly will line up in the under-15 boy's side.
Eliza O'Donnell will also look to continue her recent good form while captaining the under-15 women's team.
Also playing alongside each other will be Ben McCumstie and Darcy Hannaford, who were both selected in the under-12 boy's side.

The under-12 side will also have a Gunnedah flavour in the coaching ranks with Nik Hannaford selected to help lead the side.
Rounding out the raft of Red Devils representing Central North is Jim Brady, who will take his place in the under-14 boy's team, while Gunnedah native Toby Markerink will play in the under-18 boy's side.
Each side will have vastly different assignments with the under-17 girls set to compete at Crescent Head on May 11-12.
However, it will be Brady and the under-14 side, alongside the under-12 side who will kick things off for Central North with both sides playing in Tamworth on May 4-5.
Adamson and Kelly will strut their stuff when the under-15 side competes at Lismore on May 18-19, alongside O'Donnell who's women's team will also take to the park.
Before May's championships, the youngsters will look to gain valuable practice during the club's Friday night sevens competition, which begins on March 22.
Along with the selections and sevens competition, 2019 is set to be a memorable one for the Red Devils as it makes the club's 40th anniversary.
Each side will wear commemorative jerseys throughout the season to celebrate the anniversary.
