Where do you live? Tamworth
What do you do for a living? I care for my two young children and use my spare time to volunteer in the community.
How long have you lived in the Tamworth electorate? I was born in Tamworth.
What is the best part of living in the Tamworth electorate? Tamworth is a diverse, supportive community with unique opportunities.
Why are you running for the state seat of Tamworth? I believe we can do better by the animals, environment and people.
POLICY POSITIONS
In your opinion, what are the most pressing issues facing the Tamworth electorate?
Animal welfare, health care services and education.
What are your key election promises?
To have a full review of the ProTen Rushes Creek Development 7704, which if it goes ahead, will negatively impact the environment, animals and traditional farmers. Stop unregulated clearing of current natural habitats for wildlife. Improve access to specialist services, especially for members of the public who access NDIS services.
What is your plan for Tamworth's long-term water security?
Assess water management plans, diversification of our water resources and improve the way we utilise water.
What is your plan to improve the electorate's health services?
By improving local facilities, we have the ability to provide more jobs in specialised services which will encourage medical professionals to pursue a career here. I would like to see an increase in NDIS registered providers for vulnerable members of the community who may need frequent assistance.
If elected, will you support mandated nurse-to-patient ratios for hospitals, including Multi-Purpose Services such as Manilla?
Yes. Everyone has the right to access equal health care, regardless of their location. Nurse to patient ratios are important to both patients and staff to ensure quality healthcare.
What are your key policies relating to the drought and drought recovery?
Global warming is contributing to the frequent droughts, therefore, renewable energy sources will assist with the severity. Ensure assistance for farmers to develop tailor made cropping regimes that will suit the continually changing climate and conditions of their land.
What are your key environmental policies?
Stop land clearing. Increase renewable energy sources. Allow reforestation on land where it's feasible.
If elected, would you be willing to speak and vote against your party's policies if it would harm the electorate, or if it was clear that the majority of residents held a contrary belief?
Yes I would be willing to, however, I don't feel it would be necessary as the Animal Justice Party is able to recognise how our policies may affect the community as a whole.
What is your message to the voters?
Voting for the Animal Justice Party is a vote for kindness, equality, rationality and non-violence.
