SOME of the state's best veterans cricketers will battle it out in Tamworth on Friday.

The match is billed as country v city and will see Tamworth's veterans take on a team from Port Jackson.
Friday's game will be the third in Port Jackson's tour of regional NSW, which has seen them clash with Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour.
Tamworth's side will include over-70's state of origin representatives Peter Boyd and Col Barton.

As well as Boyd and Barton, the side will also feature over-60's state of origin representatives, Chriss Crowell, Tom Kellett, Terry Murphy, Ben Van Aanholt, Steve Beaton and Greg Kellett.
Team member Greg Kellett said Friday's match would provide a rare opportunity for the players.
"The Sydney side does feature some great talent including division one opening bowler Paul Adams, Michael Collins, Chas Viner, Ragavan Sittampalan and Paul Georgiadis," Kellett said.
"It should be a great hit out for everyone and will also be the first time a few of the players will be playing under lights.
"All in all it should be a really fun event."
