Tamworth City coach Nicholas Monet says he couldn't be happier with the progress of the 22-strong Sharks contingent that will compete at the NSW Country Championships in Sydney.

The three-day championships get underway at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on Friday and will bring together the top swimmers from across country NSW with swimmers having to achieve a qualifying time to compete.
The Sharks team will race in a range of strokes and distances, and ranges in age from 10-years old through to 21. As well as their individual events the swimmers will also combine to represent Tamworth City in both freestyle and medley relays.
"It's very exciting," Monet said.
"We go there with a big team and lots of relays so that's very exciting."
He said they have all been training well.
"They've been doing lots of heavy training, lots of ks under their belts," he said.
And lots of repetition, Monet explaining that developing technique is "just like practicing music".
The championships will for Connor Roberts, Brinez Lantz and Alex Hayes play an important part in their preparations for the nationals in April, and in Lantz (15-years) and Robert's (17-years) case both will have big programs.
Both have qualified for nine individual events, and will also swim in two relays.

It will also be a very busy meet for 12-year old Sienna Marzato after qualifying in eight individual events.
Most of the swimmers will be diving in in multiple events.
Monet said it was nice to see so many qualify for multiple events, and also good to see some young swimmers get their first taste of competing at a higher level.
The last major club event of the summer season (for those not competing at the nationals), Monet is confident of some good performances on what he has seen from his charges both in training and at the various carnivals they have competed in over the summer.
"I saw lots of good things," he said.
"How their training has progressed, how technically they have improved."
"I cannot be happier as a coach.
"I'm happy with the swimmers, their work, their attitude."
