A ROBBER who attacked a teenage girl as she waited for a cab has pleaded guilty.

William Brown, 26, is charged with one count of robbery for stealing a Mimco purse, $50 in cash, cards and medication that belonged to the victim.
He appeared at Tamworth District Court on February 1 and stood in the dock as his charge was read to him.
“On May 6 2018 in Tamworth, NSW, you did rob [victim’s name retracted] of certain property namely a Mimco purse, $50 in cash, cards and medication,” Judge Jeffrey McClennan said.
“Guilty,” Brown replied.

It was the early hours of Sunday morning around 1:30am on May 6 when Brown grabbed the 19-year-old girl by the shirt and forcibly removed her wallet.
Brown will face the court again on March 25, his bail was continued by Mr McClennan on Friday.
A community tip-off in May caused Tamworth police to take a dog squad to a service station on Goonoo Goonoo Road a day after the offence occurred.
The young girl was confronted by Brown as she walked along Peel Street between Bourke and Darling Streets.
