Encompassing campdrafting and challenge events and a performance horse sale, the annual event has drawn some of the country’s top campdrafters.
Due to the growth of the competition program, the campdraft finals have this year been split over three nights.
Backing up from winning the maiden horse aggregate at the ABCRA National finals, Wyatt Young, presenting Sheady Spin N Pepsi for Lisa and Wayne McDonell won the Prydes EasiFeed Australian Performance Horse Challenge final with a score of 323.21. The challenge tested the horses over both dry work and cattle work.
Billy-Joe Rea, riding Cooinda Knight’s Eve on behalf of BJ & A Rea finished on top in Tuesday night’s Martins Stock Haulage Open Campdraft final. Earlier in the night Troy Palmer scored 178 onboard Terry Snow’s Hells A Comin to win the Mavericks Masters final.
Wednesday night will see Round 2 of the Dalgety Stallion Shootout, the final round of the Prydes EasiFeed National Campdraft Council of Australia Champion Rider, the Charlie Maher Memorial Young Guns Final and The Landmark Classic Campdraft Final.
The final campdrafting event on the program will be the Dalgety Stallion Shootout Final, which will be held in the indoor arena on Friday night.
There are also 60 trade site exhibitions on show, offering a huge range of merchandise from western fashion, artwork and homewares to saddlery and vet products.
