A VISITOR to Tamworth has had a costly night out after his car was towed away for blocking the exit from the city’s police station.

Police were alerted after the white Toyota Landcruiser parked parallel across the driveway on Marius Street, blocking the carpark exit for the police station on Saturday night.
Oxley Sergeant Michael Buko said police cars were unable to leave the station or bring in custodies for 40 minutes on Saturday night.
“The owner was issued a parking infringement for parking across the driveway,” he said.

A tow truck was called to remove the four-wheel-drive to allow police to come-and-go.
The driver was then slapped with a $250 tow truck fee to retrieve his car.
