In a break from their usual programming, Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley took a leap of faith with their duo project aptly named Adam and Brooke.
Filmed in Uralla, the video clip for their song Train Wreck explores love at full throttle.
“I wrote it because at that time Brooke and I were spending a lot of time apart,” Eckersley said.
“We were on different sides of the world and having a great time doing it – I thought, ‘Well if this lifestyle we’ve chosen ends up in the demise of our relationship well so be it’.
“Thankfully we’re still together and kicking, we didn’t train wreck.”
Thankfully we’re still together and kicking, we didn’t train wreck.
- Adam Eckersley
Growing up on the same street in Grafton, the pair were married just 18 months after they moved in together.
Taking things slow has never really been in the blueprint, but it’s the raw passion for life and love that makes the duo so captivating.
All the while, both have incredibly successful music projects outside of each other, Brooke with The McClymonts and Adam with Adam Eckersley Band.
But, they still managed to squeeze in one duo show at The Albert on Saturday afternoon.
“Us talking to you is exactly what we do on stage,” McClymont said.

“It’s like sitting in our lounge room, that experience of coming to meet us and getting to know us – we’re two fools on stools really.
"We just try to keep it as real and honest as we can and that’s what people really love about it.”
And she’s not wrong.
Intimate in their sound, each song is a carefully crafted insight into the pair’s loving relationship, the trials, triumphs and stumbles along the way.
“We’ve always gotten along really well,” McClymont said.
“I think in a situation where people ask how you work with your partner – in our case we’re just really good friends.
“We just really enjoy each other’s company.”
Whatever they’re doing – it’s working, the couple picked up four nominations for their first album together Adam and Brooke.
They’re in the running for Contemporary Album of the Year, Country Music Capital News Group or Duo of the Year, APRA AMCOS Song of the Year and Single of the Year.
Catch Adam and Brooke at The Albert Hotel from 4pm on Saturday.
