AN 18-year-old woman is in a stable condition after being involved in a motorcycle accident near Kellys Plains on Wednesday.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to the scene south of Armidale after reports the woman had sustained multiple injuries in the accident.
The woman was transported from the scene to the Tamworth hospital in a stable condition with multiple injuries.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is under way.
The accident comes in the midst of Operation Safe Arrival – the police blitz on NSW roads over the festive season.

Double demerits are in force throughout the operation until midnight on January 1.
