Widespread damage has been reported with thousands still without power on Friday morning.
Trees are strewn across roads in South Tamworth in The Retreat and Overlanders Way and even dangling on powerlines in Anne Street.

The McDonald’s sign in South came crashing down on Thursday night, smashing onto the highway and forcing the fast food restaurant to shut its front doors.
The IGA in Robert Street saw its front doors blown in and similar incidents have been reported across town while fence panels have been blown away at Oaktree Village, off Warwick Road.
Flights in and out of Tamworth last night have been cancelled or significantly delayed, leaving passengers stranded.
Police have been assisting emergency services and are calling for calm and for locals to be patient while crews work to repair the damage.
