Over 800 Tamworth Primary students formed a guard of honour stretching from Upper through to Napier Street to farewell 140 year six pupils on their final day of school on Wednesday.

The guard stretched from the kindergarten classrooms, all the way to the senior school in what principal Chris Connor said symbolised the students seven year journey.
“It has become a bit of a tradition and gives the students an opportunity to honour the service the year six kids have given to the school, and to wish them the best,” he said.
“There has been a lot of excitement, and a few nerves, but overwhelmingly the kids are excited to start high school.”

School vice-captain Deagan Sippel could hardly wait to start holidays and then start all over again at Oxley High.
“It feels really good to finish, and a big accomplishment – I’m pretty pumped,” he said.
“I am pretty keen for next year, a new school and meeting new friends, but at the same time I will miss the teachers here, and all my mates in the younger years.”
Mother, and former student, Bec Keech was there to see her daughter Stella graduate.
“It is very emotional, but also very exciting," she said.
“Stella is really pumped to start a new chapter next year – back to being a small fish in a big pond again.”
