Already more than 500 tickets have sold to the annual Ronald McDonald House fundraiser, that sees the streets inundated with Santa look-alikes.
“It’s a little bit bittersweet, we’ve seen the event increase from when we took 60 to 70 to now the 800 mark and it’s been a great journey,” Mr Watson said.
“The support the community puts behind it is wonderful, I’ll still be a big supporter but I’ve had to reevaluate and take time with the family – I know it will be a huge success for whoever takes it on.”
And the newly formed Tamworth Rotoract youth group will be in charge of the event next year.

Annually it raises around $15,000 to $20,000 for the charity that provides housing to sick kids and their families during treatment.
Mr Watson recommends hydrating, preparing for a great night and bringing Christmas spirit. The Tamworth Santa Pub Crawl is on Friday December 14, for tickets visit Wests Tamworth.
Tickets are $15 with proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House locally.
