After stepping away from the industry for a few years, she’s returned wiser, with a little more life experience and ready to get back into music.
And, she’s just released her new single Big Crush and EP The Bridge.
“When I was 19 I was signed to Universal, I had a bit of a break because that journey came to an end after four years, I got a single out but the album never saw the light of day,” she said.
“I found other things to focus my energy on so I went to university, met my husband and had my daughter.
“When I came back to writing it was like a breath of fresh air, I wondered why I left it so long to get back to my passion.”
Inspired mostly by personal experience, Spring also likes to get creative with co-writes in the studio.
Writing about revenge, Spring was touched by the suggestion of a co-write that the song take the concept further.
“He said, ‘Maybe it’s not as simple as revenge,” she said.
“It’s bittersweet revenge, you get someone back but you’re sorry about it – and that made it a complete song.
“That obviously wasn’t a personal experience I’d been through but it made a wicked song.”
Spring has subscribed to the music industry since she was young and was heavily involved in musicals before snagging some gigs as a background singer.
It was then that her career as a background singer began with a number of Australian artists, and at 19 she was signed to Universal.
Both of her parents have been in the music industry for years so when she walked away from her dream it was only ever a hiatus.

“It was always going to be writing for me, when it came to an end the first time around it was devastating,” she said.
“But coming back to it was like coming back to my first love.”
The songs on her newest EP are a lighthearted, pop-country sound fantastic for long drives and hot summer evenings.
