The club’s undefeated premiership season was celebrated at Northern Inland Football’s 2018 awards ceremony, which also saw awards handed out to the competition’s unsung heroes, referees and top clubs.
“I think the club championship award was a really nice added bonus for our club this season,” Bartlett said.
“We had much better playing depth this year and I think it really is a extra reward for a lot of effort put in by the whole club.”
“It was a really special year and credit to a good bunch of guys,” Bartlett said.
“Everyone is on the same page at our club, we don’t have any big heads and everyone just works together.
“Some people may not like how competitive we are, but I think that’s the way the game should be played.”
Bartlett also tasted individual success at the awards ceremony, claiming his second coach of the year award in three seasons.
“It is truly humbling to be recognised as the coach of the year,” he said.
“The season was made a lot easier by having such a committed group of players and while our committee mightn’t be very big, they do an enormous job and deserve a lot of praise for the club’s success this season.”
Northern Inland Football general manager Julia Farina said season 2018 was one to remember.
“The annual awards recognise clubs, volunteers, coaches and match officials for their outstanding contribution and achievements to football in our zone,” Farina said.
“As the general manager of NIF, I am truly honoured to be representing such an amazing community, to hear about their contribution to our game is inspiring.
“I want to say a very big thank you to Northern Inland Football for my first seven months in the team.
“I’m really looking forward to 2019.”
