The mega hardware chain has told charities and groups who run the barbecue outside the store, that onion must be put on the bread before the sausage due to occupational health and safety concerns.
The Bunnings chief operator said it was for safety reasons the red tape was introduced around the onion/ sausage order.

“We recently introduced a suggestion that onion be placed underneath sausage to help prevent the onion from falling out and creating a slipping hazard,” the chief operator said.
The suggestion is a part of the ‘sausage sizzle welcome pack’ community and charity groups receive when they apply to run their sausage fundraiser.
