The country music capital was one of six regional NSW towns chosen to boost Uber’s presence in the state.
Other towns named include: Bathurst, Orange, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Wagga Wagga.

Uber head of cities across Australia and New Zealand, Natalie Malligan, said the move would increase transport options in regional cities where there were limited alternatives to driving a private car.

“This also presents a great opportunity for members of the community who want to sign up to earn some extra money, while maintaining flexibility. With Uber, you can choose to drive when it suits you, and we hope this will be a welcome option for many.
"In our experience in other cities, we expect the app will be busiest on weekends and during major events, like the Tamworth Country Music Festival.”
