Members of Gunnedah’s House With No Steps were officially welcomed home on Wednesday with a ceremony to mark the official property hand over.
The new 700 square metre house on a 3000 metre square block, will provide the long-standing disability share home facility with the modern amenities that are required for the current residents and carers.
House With No Steps regional general manager David Wallace said the house was a “modern and fit-for-purpose home”.
“This new home has a modern open plan design,” Mr Wallace said.
“It’s accessible and has multiple living and entertainment areas, separate bathrooms and an on-site carers room.”
Property development company G.J Gardner Homes worked alongside the organisation throughout the construction process which began in May this year.
“Collaboration was a key factor to ensure the design and layout would meet the needs of each of our customers,” Mr Wallace said.
“We have also considered the group’s future needs - we’ll be able to retro-fit equipment and aids if and when needed.
“We’re very pleased with the result, and very excited to receive the keys.”
