But as the new operation manager at the Manilla Bowling Club, she thought she could do more in 2018.
The club will hold a charity day, called Bowl Away Cancer, on Sunday to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
The cause is one close to Renee’s heart after losing a loved one to the dreaded disease.
“I lost my dad [Rick] to cancer three years ago,” Moon said.
“He battled on for about a year. He was only given two months and he went through a lot in that year.”
The bowling club is just one place in town that has gone pink with a number of businesses also decking their shopfronts out.
“The whole town gets behind Pink Ribbon Day,” Renee said.
“IGA, the council, everyone’s decked out out the town.”
The bowls charity day will kick off at 10am on Sunday with entrants encouraged to get there half an hour beforehand.
Entry costs $10 and includes a barbecue lunch.
There will also be a raffle on the day to boost funds raised towards the Cancer Council.
Renee encouraged everyone to wear their best and brightest.
“We’d prefer everyone to wear pink and they can go barefoot, in thongs or socks [on the greens]. It’s all social and fun,” she said.
Anyone wishing to register can head to the Manilla Bowling Club to do so or give the club a call on 6785 1632.
