A Gunnedah man has been refused bail, accused of spitting in the face of a police officer after a disturbance at a local real estate agency.

The 35-year-old man was charged with intimidation and assaulting a police officer after it is alleged he spat in the face of the policeman on Tuesday.
Police were called to the scene at 12pm on Tuesday after reports the man made a lewd comment to a female employee.

Following the incident, the man was arrested and taken to Gunnedah Police Station where he was refused bail.
The man appeared in Tamworth Local Court on Wednesday to face both charges.
His was subsequently refused bail and he is set to reappear in Gunnedah Local Court on December 4.
