She will be taken to John Hunter Hospital on Thursday for escalated care, but remains in a stable condition.
A Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew was called to Bingara Hospital at 3:15pm on Wednesday to take the woman for further scans after she suffered injuries from the fall.
“She had been riding a horse and came off somehow,” aircrew officer Glen Ramplin said.
“We have a fair few people come off horses, it’s a popular past time and unfortunately animals being animals they don’t do what they’re told.
“From time to time unfortunately accidents happen and it doesn’t matter if it’s on a property or on the road it’s a fact of life that these things happen to people- you can wear all the safety equipment and still end up hurting yourself.
