A SHOW without rides is like a child’s face without a smile, he says, and he’s looking forward to the fun of both this weekend.

Showmen’s Guild of Australasia representative Aaron Pink and the rest of the crew have been busy setting up and checking every nut and bolt of their rides ahead of Tamworth Show.
In what should be quite a sight from the road, sideshow alley has been set up between the event’s new location, AELEC, and the New England Highway.
Mr Pink said there were rides for every member of the family.
“Everyone should be well-catered-for and should enjoy themselves.”
He said one special feature would be the Hangover, fresh from the Ekka: “It spins right up over the top and does a 360 upside-down; it’s a bit of a thrill-seeker.”
“It’s always a full week’s work to place everything and to set it all up and get it ready to operate,” Mr Pink said.
“Plenty of hours go into it, but it’s very rewarding at the end when we see the kids’ faces smiling and enjoying themselves; that’s always great.”
- The rides operate from 4pm tomorrow.
More people, more fun
Mr Pink said he hoped plenty of people would support the show.
“People make atmosphere, and the more people, the more atmosphere, the more fun and the more they’ll enjoy the show.”
As for him and his own people, Mr Pink said that was one of the reasons he loved his lifestyle.
“We work with our family every day of the week – five generations, my family have been in the industry,” he said.
“It’s been terrific; I love to travel and meet new people week in, week out, and number-one thing is seeing the smiles on kids’ faces; that’s always enjoyable.
“I’ve got two boys here working with me now, and my eldest boy’s expecting as well, so that’ll be number-seven generation.”
