Developing agribusiness skills will be the focus of the two new cost-subsidised courses, which will be run by TAFE NSW.
An On-Farm Business Management course will run in Moree, Narrabri, Boggabilla and Gunnedah, while an Agribusiness Solutions and Skills course will be held in Moree, Narrabri, Gunnedah and Tamworth in September
AgSkilled is a vocational training initiative for the NSW cotton and grains industries, funded by the NSW Government and supported by Cotton Australia and the Grains Research Development Corporation. The new courses are the latest in AgSkilled’s suite of valuable training opportunities.
AgSkilled project officer Claudia Vicary said the new training courses have been developed specifically to meet the cotton and grains industries’ needs.

“It is with the help of valuable training opportunities like the new courses announced today by AgSkilled that we will continue to build the skills of those working in the cotton and grains industries,” Ms Vicary said.
“Our growers largely operate family-run enterprises, and for them, the opportunity to enrol in practical business training, contextualised to suit their farm businesses, will ensure their operations continue to run sustainably and efficiently.”
The On-farm Business Management course will include training around developing and operating computerised accounting or bookkeeping systems, managing payroll, superannuation, budgeting and business tax and GST compliance.
The Agribusiness Solutions course has been developed for those working in farm management and will develop skills in risk management, staff management and marketing.
Interested NSW growers are asked to email AgSkilled’s project officer Claudia Vicary Claudia@agskilled.org.au to register their interest to take part.
