After roughly half a decade using the same 4-3-3 formation, a 3-1 loss to East Armidale prompted Quaife to tinker with his system.

DK have gone on to claim four wins and one loss.
“We changed the system to suit the players we’ve got,” Quaife said.
“Since then we’ve played a lot better. We seem to be getting a few more goals going and it’s not just one person scoring either.”
The new formation will be put to test again on Saturday against North Companions at Marius Street.
The two sides drew last time they met. It was a game Quaife thought DK let slip.
“We were up 3-1 and conceded two goals in the last 10 minutes,” Quaife said.
“That was disappointing from us that day. We felt like we threw the game away and we’ll be after a bit of redemption.”
While DK are well entrenched in the top four, North Companions sit in sixth, nine points adrift of the fourth-placed OVA.
With seven rounds remaining in the season, coach Gavin Thompson knows results will have to go Northies’ way to make the finals.
However, Thompson said every team would have to work as hard as ever for points against Northies.
“Everyone that plays wants to win. No one’s going to go out there and give the opposition the match,” Thompson said.
“We’ll be working our guts out to improve our position on the table. Even if it just gets teams looking behind them.”
