The Inverell Saints hosted the Tamworth Kangaroos at Varley Oval on Saturday in a very entertaining match.

It was another good win by the Saints senior men’s side beating the Roos 141-53.
In what was a physical encounter the Saints defensive structure and fitness got them over the line.
Major goal scorers for the Saints were Marli Gobbert, Chris Whitto, Bailey and Josh Desbourogh.

These players were well supported by Hayden Chappel, Jade MacIlwain and Mathew Penberthy.
The women’s side also came up with the win coming up against an always-strong Tamworth side.
It was always going to be a tough match as Inverell is sitting in top spot with Tamworth close behind in second.
It was a low scoring match with Inverell winning 21-15.
Coach Richard Gleeson described the match as a very close and physical game.
“It was another hard fought contest against the Roos with not much between the two sides,” he said.
The best on ground for the Saints were Georgia Strang, Madeline Ball, Katlin Beveridge and new comer Lucy Laidlaw.
The senior men’s side play at home this Saturday against the Narrabri Eagles which is set to be a great game.
