Tamworth’s newest taxi and point to point transport service Eco VIP have had a busy nine months after launching in November last year.

The booming business was rebranded last week, after owner operator and 20 year industry veteran Chris Doulis took on the 13Cabs franchise, adding that brand to his bright red fleet of seven cars.
The franchise is a win for the Tamworth public as well, who now have 24/7 access to transport and the booking line, as well as easy access to the 13cabs app, which offers a set price instead of having a meter running, and a more personalised service.
The company already has 14 staff under their banner, and are actively looking for 16 more, including point to point drivers operating their own cars.

They have also been looking to change the image of the industry.
“Our cars and maxis all have security cameras for safety, and we have also been encouraging female drivers, particularly to operate during the day,” Mr Doulis said.
“When we looked at Tamworth it was a no brainer, the city needed more taxis.
“When I moved here 15 years ago there was 28 cars servicing 48,000 people, and before we started there was 23 cars servicing 60,000 – so hopefully we have reduced waiting times around town and given people another option.
“We are not here to take away the other services business, but to add to it.”
President of the Tamworth Business Chamber and owner of the CH on Peel Jye Segboer has jumped on board the new service, installing an automatic 13cabs Taxi Butler to the hotels front door.
“Tamworth’s population is growing steadily and the additional cab services are another demonstration the city is on a strong growth path,” he said.
“During peak periods, particularly around events like our famous music festival, the wait time can be up to an hour. We’re confident that the partnership with 13cabs will reduce wait times and increase positive experiences for visitors to the city.”
