Mother-of-two Sally Kilner was laid to rest on May 10 after “finding her wings” surrounded by love and laughter from family and friends.
In February, Sally announced on the Live Life Like Sal Facebook page that surgery, radiation and chemotherapy had been unsuccessful in “killing the cancer that seems to love me”.
The much loved community figure was an operator of Kilner’s Livestock and a selfless community volunteer involved in local groups including SES, Scouts, the St Philomena’s and Moree Primary School community and the Moree Saleyards.

After two huge fights against cancer in recent years, the Kilner family had been devastated by news that Sally’s cancer had returned for a third time in September.
In a bid to support the family financially during their battle, a group of community members instigated a ‘Live Life Like Sal’ campaign last year, which helped extend Sally’s treatment.
Sally leaves behind her husband Baz, a second-generation Moree transport operator, and their daughters, Matilda and Lucy.
